Savannah’s Must-See Attractions

Johnson Square is the oldest and largest square in Savannah, home to City Hall and a former central hub for social activities.
Perhaps the most famous of Savannah’s historic squares is Chippewa Square, home to the very bench on which Forrest Gump waited for his bus to arrive. One of the fiberglass benches used in filming the movie was donated to the Savannah History Museum, where it still resides today.
Haunted locations: Famed as one of the most haunted cities in America, Savannah is home to numerous haunted locations as well as daily ghost tours. The Davenport House, located in Columbia Square, is supposedly haunted by the spirit of a young girl, often seen through the windows, who was once a temporary resident when the house served as a boarding home. It is also rumored that the spirit of a cat haunts the property as well.
The Kehoe House, now one of the most famous bed & breakfast hotels in the nation, is also said to be a center for paranormal activity. Guests often report a sensation of someone touching their heads or grabbing their arms while they’re trying to sleep.
The Olde Pink House, rumored to be the most haunted building in Savannah, is where James Habersham Jr. passed away under suspicious circumstances ten years after finishing construction on this historic home. The ghost of a veteran of the Revolutionary War is said to be a regular visitor at the bar, often asking guests to raise their drinks for a toast but vanishing before anyone has the chance to take a drink.
